Mexico: Amnistia Internacional condena assassinato de activista dos direitos indígenas
Comunicado da Amnistia Internacional (08/08/2003): "(Mexico, D.F.) Amnesty International today condemned the murder of Mexican indigenous rights activist Griselda Tirado and called on the Mexican authorities to carry out a prompt and effective investigation. "Griselda Tirado's work in defence of human rights of the indigenous communities in Puebla may have cost her her life," said Rupert Knox, a member of Amnesty International's current High Level Mission to Mexico. "Over the years human rights defenders in Mexico have faced repeated threats and harassment, and the authorities have consistently failed to ensure their safety and investigate attacks effectively."
